Announcing the KPCT 2011 Trick and Treat Photo Contest!

Does your pet work for treats? We want to see it! Submit photos of your pet and his favorite treats to KPCT’s 2011 Trick and Treat Photo Contest. Choose up to three of your best shots of your pet(s), submit them online, and you may be on your way to a free case of treats from our online store!

Photo Contest Official Rules

Eligibility and dates

The Trick and Treat Photo Contest is open to any pet owner in the United States. All photos submitted must be the original work of the person submitting them. We will accept submissions for the Trick and Treat Photo Contest until November 4, 2011. Winners will be announced on the Clickertraining.com website on November 11, 2011.

What we're looking For

If your eyes are on that free-treat prize, follow these suggestions to maximize your winning potential:

  • Training-related photos
    • A photo that goes beyond a posed snapshot of your pet next to his/her favorite treat
    • A photo that shows your pet exhibiting a unique behavior learned through clicker training in relation to a favorite treat (for example, balancing a treat on the nose, holding a treat in the mouth)
  • The higher the resolution the better. Shoot for 300 dpi or greater by using at least a 3-megapixel camera set to a resolution of 2048x1080 or better.
  • Only color images will be accepted.

How to submit your entry

It's easy to enter! Just follow these five quick steps:

  1. Upload yourphotos to Flickr.com. Don't have a Flickr account? No worries. You cancreate one easily at Flickr.com.
  2. Join the KPCT 2011 Trick and Treat Photo Contest group. Go to http://www.flickr.com/groups/2011-trick-and-treat-photo-contest/ and click “JoinThis Group.” Welcome to the club!
  3. To submit photosto the KPCT 2011 Trick and Treat Photo Contest group, from each photo’spage click "Actions” then “Add to a group.” Now everybody can checkout your photos!
  4. Label each photowith the following elements:
    A descriptive title
    • Poor example: Image_50395
    • Good example: “Balancing a Bravo Treat on my Nose—Clickertraining.com”
    Tags that include Clickertraining.com or Karen Pryor Clickertraining, your activity, etc.
    • Poor example: “begging, clicker”
    • Good example: “Bravo treats, positive reinforcement, Karen Pryor Clickertraining”
    A compelling caption
    • Poor example: “Balancing”
    • Good example: “Balancing Bravo Buffalo Treats on my nose for more than 60 seconds!”
  5. (Optional) E-mail high-resolution copies of your submissions to us. Include your full name. We'd love it if you'd either zip or stuff your photos. If you experience file-size trouble, try using YouSendIt.com, a site that allows you to send, for free, files larger than your e-mail server may allow.
