Had a few short sessions with the puppy this afternoon, and I'm already seeing some improvement on his chewing behaviors around the house. He's already turning to his chew toys much more often than his previous usual run-around-and-chew-and-mouth-everything.
I am having a bit problem with rewarding him, however. When I use food lures, he's very grabby and overly aggressively nippy trying to get the treat out of my hand. I've tried presenting the treat to him underhanded instead of between my thumb and index finger, but it isn't doing much to help the situation. MY fingers are starting to take a real beating! Anyone who reads this and has any suggestions on how to train him to have a softer mouth in regards to this, they would certainly be very welcome!
