Molly Johnson

Molly Johnson is the owner of Canine Clicker College, offering in-home, personalized basic skills/obedience clicker training for clients in in the Appleton, Wisconsin, and surrounding areas. Though she did not have dogs as a child, Molly's love for dogs began at the age of eight with a neighbor's black Labrador, Max. As an adult, Molly began her training career eagerly with her first Labradors, Lyndon Johnson, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Calvin Coolidge. Molly now has more than twenty years of experience training dogs using positive reinforcement.

Since 1992, Molly has been immersed in therapy-dog work as a volunteer, mentor, and trainer. She develops comprehensive therapy-dog programs for hospice programs around the country through her consulting business, Canine Comfort, LLC. In 2009, Molly founded Compassionate Canines Inc., a non-profit volunteer therapy dog organization located in Neenah, Wisconsin.

Molly says, "I volunteer about 20 hours each week testing, mentoring, and training therapy dog volunteers. We now have 70 handlers and 80 therapy dogs at Compassionate Canines, all very active in our community in many settings. We are just three years old but we are growing by leaps and bounds!"

Molly gives back to her community through therapy dog visits with her three registered therapy dogs (Beamish, a golden retriever, Madigan, a black Labrador retriever, and Dudley, a basset hound). Together they visit hospice facilities, inpatient mental health units, funeral homes, camps for grieving children, and local skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. Molly's dogs provide comfort, love, support, and animal companionship to people of all ages.
