I know I've put 'yes' to professional and entered 'pet trainer' but I am in fact still training to be a dog trainer in obedience, tricks and fun, agility and behavioural issues.
I am currently seeing people who are experiencing problems with their dogs, I do not charge, nor do I claim to be a professional.
I tell them I would like to see the dog so I can see as many of these behavioural 'problems' as possible and if it's something straight forward I'll suggest something to help. I will then keep in touch and if my solution hasn't worked I can then refer them on to a trainer or behaviourist who I think may be able to help.
I absolutely love working with dogs! They are such fantastic creatures.
Both of my dogs (dalmatians) are clicker trained (although my eldest doesn't seem to notice me clicking at him a lot of the time!) and my cats also know a few little tricks trained by clicker training but I intend to expand on this!
I have used clicker training for obedience/tricks for a long time and have just started using it for agility (mainly to perfect her contacts) and ringcraft (to perfect her 'show stand') and I find it absolutely awesome!
I always recommend it to anyone I see who has problems with their dogs!
