First entry: clicker training for Utility

I've been terrible about keeping a training journal in the past several months (it doesn't help that I'm in school full-time in addition to working full-time), so I've decided to keep a training blog detailing my Basil's progress through Utility training.

Basil is almost seven, and is my first totally clicker-trained dog. He has multiple obedience, agility and rally titles and is also a breed champion. I've trained one dog through Utility, but we only trialed a handful of times, and I didn't know what I was doing; I live in an area where there's literally no one doing competitive obedience at a high level using clicker training. We have some people who are what I'd call "quite positive," but no one who I could go to for guidance.

So later on today or maybe tomorrow, I'll post some details about Basil's training and where we are. This should help me keep on task, and also provide others with information on clicker training for competitive obedience...
