It's been almost a week since I went full force with the "project socialization" with Lucy. I am taking her out with one of her meals every day. She is meeting tons of new people and slowly she is decreasing her barking at strangers (and strange situations). The best thing about it is using the clicker. See, I offer the stranger some chicken treats as an offering to Lucy, then I encourage them to let her approach them. As she approaches the treat in their hand, and them, I click before she eats the treat. This gets the stranger asking what the click is for and I can share my stories with positive reinforcement and operative conditioning! It really is a converstation starter. And it feels great to share such a wonderful way of trainging!
