We just got home from our second to last agility class at our current level. This is our second round of classes. Next week we officially graduate and will be going into intermediate. Etta has been absolutely fantastic. She is so much fun, like a little sports car driving around the course!
Tonight we were working on the dog walk, which we haven't done in a while. We did a few warm ups over it, then did restrained recalls over it. Etta *flew* to me! I wish I had it on video! Then they raised the height to the official height and Etta could have cared less.
She really seems to like the tall obstacles like the dog walk and the a-frame. If we are remotely near them she insists on going over them!
Tonight as we headed back to the dog walk for our second round off leash, Etta took off on me from halfway across the room and started the dog walk on her own! She was 3/4 of the way up it before she seemed to hear me call her to wait. Then she looked at me as if to say "Get a move on, slow poke!".
We also worked on lots of body language for sending the dogs to various obstacles. Etta was remarkabley tuned in to what I was doing and she responded beautifully!
I really wish I had been able to get her into classes sooner, but better late than never. And at least this way she has a great learning foundation under her.
I can not wait for the next level!
