Mrs Old Musher and I paid a visit to a Schutzhund trial yesterday. It turned out to be a great outing. A real eye opener. The competitors were very patient with us as we quizzed the daylights out of them. The dogs were wonderful, well behaved, well socialized animals. I discovered that a good portion of the handlers incorporate clicker training in shaping behavior. In fact, the club we visited is really keen on their animals getting their CGC certificates.
The first week in January we're going to a herding trial. I can hardly wait. It's been 20 years since the last one I attended and my wife has never been. There is so much more to do here than in North East Maine. I love Georgia.
