Last night was great! I got a few laughs in there too.
Bing was excellent. He is really catching onto the crate training, I haven't had to catch him in three nights now, same as Mr. Darcy. Bing is also really doing well on the stay. Three times today I was able to pull my hand away in that 'okay' sign and he stayed there. Didn't follow my hand or anything. HURRAH! He got a lot of pellets for that.
Mr. Darcy was really cracking me up last night. He is getting the 'touch' down so well. Once he was even so enthusiatic about it he came skidding accross the bathroom to touch my hand. HAHA! He almost head bonked it. Crazy chinchilla!! He froze up on me once tonight... I am still unsure why this is happening. But I remained patient and after 2-3 minutes he came right over to start.
Bing and Darcy did well tonight.
I was able to transport Darcy up the steps and into the bathroom with no mishap. I think he is really getting to learn the word 'kennel'. We went back and forth from me saying 'kennel' and 'touch' and about 90 percent of the time performed correctly. Hurrah for him! Touch is going really well, he is pretty much at the point Bing is currently. I have also started introducing 'stay' which is going well. His attention span still isn't at what Bing's is, occasionally he will decide he wants to jump around, whereas Bing has gotten to the point where he stays right by my side during the whole training session. He froze on me twice tonight, both times at the begging of the session. I was patient and waited for him to snap out of it. Both times he did so relatively quickly.
Bing is doing good. I keep messing up my timing on the stay, which imeans that behavior is going to take longer for him to learn. Kennel is going alright as well. I still don't think he knows what the word is. Tomorrow I am going to do the same thing I did with Darcy, go back and forth between 'kennel' and 'touch' maybe that will speed up the learning process. But he is definetly going into it reliably.
