Zee's clicker training has officially started!
I originally purchased the kit a couple of years ago when he was a kitten; and was able to get him to touch the target and go across the top of the couch. Unfortunately, I let work demands get the better of me and stopped the training. Today was really a review of those things plus a few more. He did really well!
Even though the target was different, he immediately touched it with his nose. I moved it a few steps and had him follow it while it was moving. The only one he had a little problem with was leading him back & forth; I think it was due to me hesitating two seconds before clicking. We'll review that tomorrow. After he got a few clicks & treats while being led over the top of the couch, he was finished. I rewarded him with a few more treats and his teaser toy for twice as long as we trained. That's okay, his behavior is improving already and I'm beginning to understand him more. He acts out when he wants my attention, for example, he jumped on the stove because he wanted me to turn on the bathtub faucet so he could get a special drink of water & play in it, too!
