Yesterday was a 'no breakfast' day for Frankie. I don't know why she does this...maybe she's just not a morning person. When I got home from work I wanted to do a short training session outside since it was kind of sunny. I decided it would be a great idea to use her kibble from breakfast for training treats, especially since the canned chicken went over so well last time. NOT! So I grab our doggie-pouch-treat-thingy with said kibble and set out. I learned that kibble is not an acceptable training treat for outside, according to Frankie. She did everything I asked, which was only a few sits since she wanted nothing to do with the kibble, so at least that was good. A little while later I tried the kibble indoors. Worked like a charm. We worked on 'wave' and she ate every bite. Funny little dog. I, however, need to work on my clicker timing for this particular trick. I keep clicking when she has two paws in the air instead of just one. I kick myself every stinkin' time, too. Just when I think she's only gonna use one paw...up goes the other one...and CLICK! DRAT!
Our evening session is with the kibble, as well. And yet again, she eats every bite. Funny little dog, indeed. We work on 'down' and 'sit', with a few 'gimme fives' thrown in at the end because she does those with such vigor. She's getting better at telling the difference between 'sit' and 'down'. I can see the progress every time we train, and that makes me happy.
In other news...it's Friday, and that makes me very happy! We're getting another round of rain, or so I hear. This time it's supposed to be with wind gusts up to 60mph. Joy.
That's all for now,
