Hi I'm in England where clicker training seems to be restricted to dogs in training classes.I have 4 clicker trained dogs and 3 clicker trained horses....people think I'm some sort of loony clicker training my horses....here in the UK the type of horse 'training'most people use is restricted to punishment based (think spurs,whips,hitting with broomsticks,shouting ). Some people are now learning about 'Natural Horsemanship' and thinking more about how they treat their horses....Natural Horsemanship is still seen as 'the soft option' and 'new age nonsense' by lots of people..they haven't even heard of clicker training yet....there are a lot of closed minds here.....even people who have seen the fantastic results of clicker training my horses dismiss it as 'not the way you should do things'...
So I will carry on helping my horses learn happily and without stress...and find like minded people on clickertraining.com.
