Egad! I can't believe it's been so long since I've entered anything here! The past week has been all full of ups and downs... many downs.
Not trying to whine here, just give you a bit of background: On Monday, March 10th, I was upstairs stripping the beds. I pulled on the fitted sheet on our bed and felt an odd feeling in my back. By odd feeling, I mean that it HURT!!!! A lot!!!!! As an added bonus, I also had the wonderful sensation of numbness and burning pain shooting down my left leg. Lucky me! I have two ginormous sublixations which are not only pressing on the nerves coming off the spinal cord, but also on the spinal cord itself! The good news is that I am being treated by a wonderful chiropractor. Dr. Mark is doing a great job and I am now able to stand for about an hour before I absolutely have to sit for a while, and am able to walk about 6 short blocks at a time. The burning pain is pretty much gone, and hopefully the numbness will follow soon. My back itself is very up and down. I am able to sleep for about 5 hours without being crippled on getting up (this is a big improvement... it was 3 hrs max up until a week or so ago).
This has taken me off work on short term disability, and put a huge monkey wrench in my training! There are good days and bad days.... the past week has mostly been bad days.
Anyway.... This is driving me crazy! I've got to get off my rear as much as I can, and get to working with the doggie! Gracie has been doing very well with her familiar behaviors, but I've got to get her going on some new stuff.
Stay tuned.... I'm really trying to get things moving around here. I did take the down time to some use and re-read Don't Shoot the Dog. So I've got that going for me.
