Clicker training - starting from scratch!

Today I ordered 3 clickers and a DVD to get started with my two dogs: Lily, a nearly 2 year old Great Pyrenees and Jasper, a spaniel/shepherd/border collie mix of about 3. Both are independent and have their own issues. Jasper, true to his spaniel heritage, likes to chase small animals, while Lily, true to her guardian dog nature, goes crazy when people come to the door or walk by on the sidewalk. They also need reinforcement about "leave it" when encountering barking dogs, and Lily needs to learn that small children are not playmates, and should be left alone and respected.

I was fascinated with clicker training when I saw that British tv show, "Barking Mad." The trainers seem to get wonderful results with it, for dogs that are much worse than mine!

The items should arrive next week, and I look forward to getting started.
