Chevy is a 10 month old, intact male, Harlequin Great Dane. He is extremely motion and sound sensitve. Pooped in his crate, but I addressed the issue with the owner of a feeding schedule and within one week he only had one accident. He lacks socialization and has had 2 (2-hour) sessions with me to observe and address issues before the group class actually starts. Parents understand that they will be employing the behaviors taught in the first three classes while i teach the new students starting the class. I am worried about his reaction, but feel confident I can help the owners manage him while working with the new students. They will also see how the cues will be used and take a hint from seeing them. I just need to keep them focused on me instead of Chevy. I wonder at what point do I suggest private lessons to them for further work on problem issues. I also do not want to scare other owners with his reaction,if any,to people and their pets are in the training room with him. I feel like he needs more private lessons because he is so sensitive to people, motion, and sound. Group class starts next wednesday. I guess i will see what happens after first class and then decide.
