...of the non-operant kind.

Sarra loves to ride in the car. Whenever my boyfriend and I take her somewhere she eagerly jumps in. Today I took her with me while I was picking up dog food and the whole time we're in the car she is panting and stressed out. After I obtained the dog food and tried to get her back in the car she got really stubborn about it, but finally went in.

I got home thinking, 'What on earth kind of behavior is that?' Then I put it together. When my boyfriend and I take her places it is always in his car and we take her to daycare or down to his Dad's place that has a huge fenced yard and beach front. The only place she goes in my car is to the vet. Bingo.

I think I now must start a campaign of riding in my car without going to the vet, even if we just drive to the pet store or out to another park, anything but the vet.

That is my story of unintended consequence for the day.

Thanks. Of course mere

Thanks.

Of course mere hours after I wrote that she was lying on a blanket on the couch that was not hers. Normally she only embarrasses me when I actually say things, but apparently she too reads my blog and feels it necessary that I not be too proud.

This is classic!

Got a good chuckle out of this, Kelly. I've had the same thing happen as I'm not much of one for taking my dogs places in the car.

After I read this, I got curious and clicked on your blog and read some of your other posts. The idea of training Sarra that she may come onto the sofa WHEN her blanket is there is brilliant!
