The award was presented to Karen Pryor at the DWAA 2010 Annual Awards Banquet in New York City, an annual event that recognizes bodies of work that reflect DWAA’s mission—to encourage quality writing about dogs as athletes, competitors and, most of all, our beloved companions.
Reaching the Animal Mind is the latest book by Karen Pryor, who has been writing and teaching about humane, science-based animal training for decades. In her illuminating new book, Pryor reveals how modern, force-free training methods bring out the undiscovered creativity, intelligence, and personality of the animals in our lives.
