With clicker training, you can handle undesirable behaviors in various ways—without using punishment.
It's important to recognize that some behaviors you may not like are quite natural animal behaviors, and are best dealt with through household management. (The easiest way to keep your dog from chewing shoes, for example, is to avoid leaving shoes around your dog.)
Remember: reward the behaviors you like, and find creative solutions to the behaviors you don't. Your dog wants to please you—and it's all about communication. That's where the clicker comes in.
