Happy Dog leads to happy family

Filed in - leaning curve

In February I had the very sad task of bidding my faithful german shepherd Captain farewell, due to HD.

Unfortunately I took him for training to somebody who used force! Neeedless to say it was a disaster and I stoppped training. He never was a sociable dog and we had loads of problems. With my family he was fine but with others was very protective of me. I decided next time around to do my homework and when my new puppy Troye arrived started with socializing him. He is being clicker trained and loves it. As soon as he sees me going to where I keep his clicker and ball (which is his drive) he goes ballistic! Another amusing thing which has come out of all this is our old collie (11 years) has cottoned onto it as well and has joined in! Well done to all of you who so faithfully look for a better way of training our beloved pets! Cheers Norms

I to tried traditional training when I first got neeko I had know idea about clicker training. Needless to say he is doing ten times better with positive renforcement than when he wore his prong collar.
