How long does it take to get a parrot?
By BlueHairBob on 01/22/2007There are two ways to get a parrot fast: 1) buy one at a pet store with no planning on a whim, or 2) be known as someone who will take in an unwanted bird and give them a loving home. Of course, in order to do the second option, you have to have put in the long hard work to become that person.
DVD Review #1: Parrot Behavior & Training (Part 1): Introduction to Training by Barbara Heidenreich
By BlueHairBob on 01/09/2007OK, this is an essential DVD. Of the several that I have watched so far, "Parrot Behavior & Training (Part 1): Introduction to Training by Barbara Heidenreich" is the best.
Book Review #4: Guide to a Well Behaved Parrot by Mattie Sue Athan
By BlueHairBob on 01/07/2007I would not use this as a "Parrot Behavior Bible", but it is a good read if you take the good and filter the rest. I would not consider this an essential reference, but the stories are helpful.
